Vale Inco implemented a very structured and disciplined front line planning and scheduling process for operations, production and maintenance that required end users to use the underling ERP / EAM system, Mincom Ellipse extensively. The business process required end users to navigate several different screens and fields to create and update the appropriate data records, which proved to be a steep learning curve for more than 2,000 users and required an enormous training effort to support. Vale Inco needed a mechanism to enforce its newly implemented business processes within the software.
