BNSF Railway was using several procurement systems when it engaged DTS: a legacy system that had a number of customizations added over time, a web-based electronic procurement system and Mincom Ellipse BNSF asked DTS to provide a solution to meet the needs of several thousand users who needed to order parts and supplies – users with needs ranging from those of a roadmaster ordering transition rail to an executive assistant ordering office supplies. In addition, BNSF Railway wanted to reduce the need for expensive and time-consuming customizations to their ERP package.

BNSF Railway implemented eMESA 3.7 as a web-based front-end to route all procurement transactions through Mincom Ellipse for over 2,500 users across the Central and Western regions of the United States and parts of Canada, to facilitate and streamline business processes in the following areas:

In eMESA, BNSF today has a user-friendly, intuitive, scalable and flexible web-based user interface that meets its immediate needs and can easily grow with the company as its business process evolves.

DTS provides deep EAM experience and a variety of products, including eMESA™, an EAM software solution that allows operators to focus on process improvement and asset utilization instead of user training. DTS and eMESA™ can streamline your business processes in an easy-to-use, 100% web-enabled solution that maximizes your existing investment in your ERP/EAM. With DTS, you implement your process, your way.
